Shruti box and Voice
September 19, 2024 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Sonotarium in Montreal
The shruti box is an increasingly popular instrument due to its instant, calming effect on the nervous system. It allows for wonderful improvisation and accompaniment to musical jams! Despite its simplicity, knowing how to play it well is essential to reap its full benefits.
If you have a shruti box or want to get one, this workshop is for you! Have you ever thought of any of these phrases?
- “I love the sound but I’ve never played an instrument”
- "I have one, but I don't know what to do with it."
- “I would like to chant mantras, but I don’t know which one or how to adjust my shruti box.”
- “I would like to develop a better vocal practice”
The Shruti box and voice workshop is here to answer all your questions, in addition to having a moment of practice with the instrument, understanding the technical and mystical aspect of the instrument, musical theory and discovering mantras adapted to the shruti box.
I'm waiting for you on September 19th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for a practical workshop on the shruti box!!

The program
The Song of Union is a course that allows us to discover how song, sound and movement are there to reconnect us with our deepest essence.
With the practice of Bhakti, classical Indian music, Ayurveda, Naada Yoga and Tantra, singing has become a path that guides me through being, through life and creativity.
More than once, through singing, I have experienced union, the perfect fusion of emptiness and fullness, interior and exterior, consciousness and energy! I want you to experience it too!
Let's sing together, the music of the moment, let's express our unique essence in harmony, let's listen to what is simply there!
This course integrates my 25 years of classical singing, 12 years of Bhakti and Naada Yoga and 8 years of classical Tantra (Kashmiri Shivaism)
Come and vibrate with me, for 8 weeks, the song of union!

Introduction of the theme and exercises (e.g. meditation, breathing, Naada Yoga, movement or visualization)

Explanation and definition of classical Tantra of Kashmiri Shaivism:
Tantra is a path that integrates our divine nature with our human experience; it is a philosophy embodied in life, in the body. Tantra allows us to fully experience life within ourselves, to vibrate with its deep essence.
Tantra connects us with the whole and helps us become aware of the multidimensionality of our being. Tantric practice leads us to total love, to our immense heart that embraces rather than separates. It is a path dedicated to consciousness and energy!
So why sound in all this? By its invisible, vibrant, and spacious nature, sound allows us to understand, live, and experience the abstract concepts of Tantra. Above all, Tantra is a practice of consciousness, energetic and vibrational, even sonic.
With the study of tantric texts, primarily Kashmiri Shaivism, including the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra, the Spanda Karika, the Shiva Sutra, the poetry of Lalla, and more, we find sound and vibration at the forefront. It's no surprise, since sound has the power to make us feel the invisible.
